ABOUT ME

Melissa Mose, MA, LMFT, is the founder, owner, and clinical director of Mose Psychotherapy and Coaching, Inc. As president of the board of directors of OCD Southern California (OCD SoCal), an affiliate of the International OCD Foundation, she advocates for individuals with OCD and raises community awareness to improve access to effective and compassionate treatment.

Melissa has worked with adults, adolescents, and families for nearly 30 years, utilizing a wide range of therapeutic modalities. She is:

  • a marriage and family therapist, licensed in California

  • a graduate of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute: Introductory, Advanced and Pediatric Levels

  • a level 3 trained and certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, an approved IFS consultant, and a program assistant at the IFS Institute

  • a certified mindfulness teacher at Mindful Life Program,

She has advanced training in:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

  • Adult Attachment Interview – certified reliable coder

  • Trauma Resilience Model (TRM)

  • Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)

She holds a BA in English Literature from Occidental College. She earned a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and completed PhD coursework in Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Her doctoral research on attachment theory has been cited in numerous publications.
